As of January 1, 2020, the Town of Bennington Transfer Station is no longer in service. Curbside trash pickup service is being provided by Wyoming County through Waste Management. Townwide pickup is Wednesday. For additional information please click here. Dropping any items off at the Highway Dept. is not allowed - including appliances, tires, waste oil and newspapers.  Waste Management does accept one large item such as furniture and appliances weekly.  Waste oil can be taken to the store that you purchased it from.  Papers can be recycled weekly with your Wednesday trash pickup.  Tires can be returned to the store where you bought them (keep your receipt from purchase!)  The Town will still have the State DEC doing periodic inspections and be liable for fines for improper operations.  The Highway Department grounds are closed except for highway matters and trespassers may be prosecuted.
Note:  If you have a problem with your weekly trash collection, please call Wyoming County at 585-786-8820.  This is your best option to get a quick response as they are staffed 9 to 5 and can speak directly with the WM account representatives that handle the County contract.

Electronics disposal:  We get many calls about where to get rid of old TV's, computers, etc.  First, check with the store where you buy your new one, as many (such as Best Buy) accept old units for disposal (a limited number per month.) You can also check with the ARC of Genesee & Orleans Counties, who accept recycled electronics for a small fee.  Check their website -, then business services and then transfer station - or call 585-343-4203 for more information.
