NOTICE TO BIDDERS - April 19, 2023

 

The Town of Bennington Highway Department is selling the following surplus materials via sealed bid:

  1. Approx 200 ton of round 2 inch stone

  2. Tile – 2 rolls of 1500 feet each 4 inch corrugated drainage tile

 

Stone bids accepted for the full lot only; tile may be bid for one or both rolls.  Items may be inspected at the Highway Dept by calling 585-591-2664.

Bids must be written and in sealed envelopes and sent to Bennington Town Clerk, 905 Old Alleghany Rd., Attica NY 14011 no later than 6 p.m. on May 1, 2023.  Bids will be opened at 6:30 p.m. and awarded at the May 10, 2023 Town Board Meeting.  The Town Board reserves the right to reject and/all bids.

The Town has adoped guidelines for installation of driveway pipes for new or existing driveways.  

New/First Time installations:   Fee $300.  Fee includes Town labor, equipment and fill materials and sign off on installation by the Town.  Owner/applicant supplies drainage pipe according to Town specifications.

Replacement pipe installation:  Town Highway Department supplies pipe, labor, equipment and materials at our cost.

Applications for pipe installations are available at the Highway Dept, Town Clerk's Office, or go to the Forms Section on this website.  Applications for new installations should be returned to the Town Clerk's Office with payment.

MAILBOX DAMAGE:  If you have a mailbox damaged during winter snow removal by Town plows, please contact the Highway Department to have someone come and assess the damage.  The Town's mailbox policy can be read by clicking here.  Please note that this policy only applies to Town and County roads - if you live on a State Highway, you would need to contact the NYS Department of Transportation.
